MY ENCOUNTER WITH A GHOST

I am a veracious reader. My mother says that I read as if I have to complete all the books available on earth within a couple of years!!!! Jokes apart, but due to this habit, I had an unforgettable encounter with a ghost which I will now share with you. I was reading a book titled "Goosebumps" written by R.L.Stine. Since it was a Sunday I had my breakfast and started reading it. I skipped my lunch since my mother was not around and I finished the book by dinner time. It was raining the whole day and I had a good reason not to go out in our garden to play. During dinner I discussed the ghost story with my family. My secret aim was to scare my sister. As usual she was in different. She always thinks that she is very brave and is afraid of nothing. But I guess,ghosts must be afraid of her instead and dare not come in front of her. As I was tired, I desperately needed to sleep. I dreamt of ghostly characters and by midnight I woke up. My sister was snoring and making unbelievable sounds. I was irritated and tried to sleep again. Half an hour later, my sleep was disturbed again. I opened my eyes and what I saw scared the life out of me! Can you believe that I actually saw a ghost! It was a headless body with two hands wide open and suspended in the air. It was changing its shape and size constantly. I could see a fat ghost in a moment and a thin ghost in another. I tried to speak but no sound could I make. My mouth remained wide open and dry. I was trembling with fear, not knowing what to do. I started praying to god. I turned to look at my sister who was still fast asleep. I was so terrified that due to my shivering and trembling I fell from my cot. It made a 'thud' sound and woke up my sister. She switched on the lights and saw me sweating profusely. She rushed to call my parents. What I saw afterwards was so relieving. What I thought was a ghost was indeed my mother's gown which she had hung near the window. When the air gushed in, the gown puffed out and appeared like a fat ghost. When the air escaped it looked like a thin ghost. When I realized that I felt very stupid! In the meanwhile, my parents rushed to our room. My father picked me up lovingly and put me back to sleep.
